The Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) has begun sending official dispatches to clubs in the national championship system to collect comments, aiming to improve the quality of the 2026 season's organization.
One of the contents that VFV has raised for comments is the regulation on the transfer and use of foreign players.

Accordingly, VFV proposed 4 options for clubs to discuss, including: Registering 1 foreign athlete - competing on the field 1 athlete; registering 2 foreign athletes - competing on the field 1 athlete (current plan); registering 2 foreign athletes - competing on the field 2 athletes; registering 3 foreign athletes - competing on the field 2 athletes.
Regarding the competition format, VFV also opens up many options for the teams to choose from. Specifically, tournaments can be organized in the form of home - away courts or concentrated at one location with 2, 3 or 4 stages.

Previously, seasons often applied a two-phase competition format. For example, the 2025 national championship, in phase 1, 16 teams will compete at Dong Anh Stadium (Hanoi) in March and phase 2 will take place at Ninh Binh Stadium in September.
The collection of opinions from clubs shows that the Vietnam Volleyball Federation is determined to improve the tournament organization model, towards professionalism and international integration.
With the participation of clubs, VFV also hopes that the 2026 national championship will achieve higher quality, bringing a positive image to Vietnamese volleyball as well as meeting the development needs of the teams.
