In 2025, one of the most important tournaments for Vietnamese women's volleyball is the 33th SEA Games. From the beginning of the year, the Department of Sports and the Vietnam Volleyball Federation identified the goals and assigned the gold medal task for coach teachers Nguyen Tuan Kiet.
Mr. Le Tri Truong - General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation said: "The nature of high-performance sports is pressure and must overcome oneself. If you do not set goals, you will never be able to overcome them and it will be difficult to achieve the desired results.
In the sports industry, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, after consideration, assigned the target of winning the 33rd SEA Games gold medal to the Vietnam women's volleyball team. We see this as a very difficult task and a great deal of pressure.
Therefore, when working with the coaching staff, we determine that mentality so that the coaching staff can convey it to the team. We must turn that pressure into motivation to strive to complete the set goals".
At the last 2 Games, the Vietnam women's volleyball team won 2 silver medals. Looking more broadly, in the past 20 years, Vietnamese women's volleyball has not won any gold medal, despite reaching the finals of the SEA Games from 2005 to present (except for 2017)
Therefore, the goal of winning the 33rd SEA Games gold medal will be a big challenge for Thanh Thuy and her teammates. However, this is very appropriate in the context of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team developing strongly and achieving many impressive achievements in recent times.
At this time, the women's team is gathering in Quang Ninh to prepare professionally and physically for the intense tournaments from now until the end of the year. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team will compete in the AVC Nations Cup, VTV Cup, SEA V.League, World Championship and finally SEA Games 33.
From tournaments of a pivotal nature, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will focus on improving tactical skills and maintaining performance before competing at the Southeast Asian Games in December.
Faced with this important task, striker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy said: "My teammates and I always believe in the coaching staff, believe that the teachers will have a suitable training program as well as improve tactics and playing style to help the team improve. The whole team will turn pressure into motivation to aim for the highest goal".
