The 2026 Asian Athletics Championships (for jumping) closed on the evening of May 19 in China.
On the last day, the Vietnamese athletics team had athletes Vu Thi Ngoc Ha, Nguyen Thi Huong participating in the women's triple jump event and Ho Trong Manh Hung competing in the men's triple jump.
Athlete Vu Thi Ngoc Ha achieved the best result of 13m55 in the jumps. The above result helped her win a bronze medal at the 2026 Asian Championships (for the jump event).
Athlete Nguyen Thi Huong achieved a result of 13m18, ranked 6th. In this event, the athlete of the Chinese Athletics Team won a gold medal with the best result of 14m16.
In the men's triple jump pit, Ho Trong Manh Hung could not win a medal because he only achieved his highest result of 15m97. The above achievement helped Manh Hung maintain 6th place. At this year's Asian tournament, the athlete from host China won a gold medal with a result of 16m90.
The coaching staff of the Vietnamese athletics team said that the players will return home on May 20.
The Asian Athletics Federation is organizing the continental championship for the first time for specialized jumping events including triple jump, pole vault, high jump, and long jump.
We have had Duong Thi Thao, Bui Thi Kim Anh competing in women's high jump but no medals. Athlete Tran Thi Loan also did not win a medal in women's long jump.
