The coaching staff of the Vietnam Athletics Team said that the spirit of the athletes is currently good. Professional preparation is currently being carried out during the weekend to help each athlete improve further.
Competing in sunny weather can affect expertise. However, we prepare every smallest technique for each athlete so that they can enter the 2026 Asian Beach Games to show their abilities," affirmed the representative of the coaching staff of the Vietnamese athletics team. This time, Vietnamese athletics sends a group of athletes to compete including Vu Thi Ngoc Ha, Ha Thi Thuy Hang, Pham Van Nghia (long jump, triple jump) and Bui Thi Kim Anh, Duong Thi Thao (high jump).
SEA Games 33 champion in women's high jump Bui Thi Kim Anh is one of the hopes of winning a Gold Medal at the 2026 Asian Beach Games. She achieved her best career result of 1m86 to win the SEA Games 33.
However, Kim Anh was not successful at the 2026 Asian Indoor Athletics Championships. Kim Anh's achievement at that time was only 1m75. However, the female athlete has been training in China recently to regain confidence and be ready to go to China to create a breakthrough at the 2026 Asian Beach Games.
Finding favorable momentum
Vietnamese athletics is focusing forces to prepare for ASIAD 20 in September in Japan.
The fact that some athletes compete in the 2026 Asian Beach Games is also considered a professional test (and may achieve results) to give a good start to the Vietnamese athletics team this year.

Athletics is for the first time included in the official competition program at the 2014 Asian Beach Games. In history, the Vietnamese athletics athlete with the best achievements through the Asian Beach Games competitions is Bui Thi Thu Thao (long jump).
She won 1 Gold Medal at the 2014 Asian Beach Games and 1 Gold Medal at the 2016 Asian Beach Games both in women's long jump. Also from the performance results of Bui Thi Thu Thao, the Vietnamese athletics team had positive results in this sport at the 2016 Asian Beach Games (winning 6 Gold Medals, 7 Silver Medals, 2 Bronze Medals).
Currently, the Vietnam Athletics Federation is also aiming for the opportunity to develop some beach athletics tournaments in the near future. Because beach athletics also creates interest from fans and experts.
The 2026 Asian Beach Games will be held in China from April 22 to April 30. The Vietnamese athletics team will compete in events from April 24 to April 26 at the Games.
