The athletics competition program of the 2026 Asian Beach Games starts from April 24.
Athlete Ha Thi Thuy Hang of the Vietnamese athletics team won a gold medal in the long jump in her first participation in the 2026 Asian Beach Games.
The women's long jump event this time has 13 athletes participating. Vietnamese athletics has athletes Ha Thi Thuy Hang and Vu Thi Ngoc Ha participating.
Athletes performed 6 jumps in the competition program. Through 6 turns, Ha Thi Thuy Hang achieved the best result of 6m16 to win a gold medal. The result of 6m16 was performed by Thuy Hang in the last jump, turn 6.
In the competition, athlete Wikramasinha Arachchi I (Sri Lanka) won second place with a best performance of 5m87. Third place belongs to player Galabadage I (Sri Lanka) with a result of 5m83.
Athlete Vu Thi Ngoc Ha only ranked fourth with the best jump time of 5m81, missing the opportunity to win a medal at this Games.
Ha Thi Thuy Hang's gold medal is the first gold medal of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the 2026 Asian Beach Games.
In this participation, the Vietnamese athletics team registered 5 athletes to compete in the high jump and long jump events. The athletics event of the Games is held from April 24 to 26. The Vietnamese sports delegation participates in 8 sports with 90 members (including 54 athletes) at the 2026 Asian Beach Games in China.
