Coach Mai Duc Chung shared that the Vietnam women's team is actively preparing to aim for good results at the 2025 Southeast Asian tournament at home.

Sharing with the media, coach Mai Duc Chung said that he reminded the players during the rest week after the Asian Women's Championship to maintain on-site physical training and only have 2-3 days off, so when focusing back on the coaching staff, he quickly increased the intensity of the exercises for the players.

Evaluating the training results after the first week of the players, coach Mai Duc Chung said: Although the weather is hot, the team's training spirit is commendable. The only regrettable case is Tuyet Ngan's sudden surgery for the extra intestines during the gathering with everyone.

Therefore, the coaching staff will let Tuyet Ngan return home to take care of her family, thereby recovering quickly. But the good news is that Thanh Nha will start returning to the team from next week. The overall force is sufficient to prepare for training in Quang Ninh".

In the upcoming training trip, the coaching staff aims to improve the physical strength of the whole team and endurance. Coach Mai Duc Chung also commented that the upcoming Southeast Asian women's tournament will be more difficult because Southeast Asian teams have many naturalized players, in which Indonesia almost has naturalized the entire team.

With young players called up to the training session this time, coach Mai Duc Chung said that the coaching staff has made a selection.

"After the national women's championship, we will continue to call up many young faces for further training. Many young faces have improved very quickly. The time spent constantly focusing on other training projects at the club, practicing with experienced players is probably part of the reason why the players have made remarkable progress. The coaching staff also always reminds young players to always be confident and determined. The coaching staff is ready to arrange young players to compete if they are in good form, coach Mai Duc Chung emphasized.

Veteran striker Huynh Nhu also shared with media representatives before the afternoon session on July 18. Accordingly, Nhu and the Vietnamese female players had a very good training week despite the hot weather: "The young players are also trying and making a lot of effort, both practicing and learning from the women, so they are making great progress. Currently, Nhu and the players are trying to support each other, the professional issue has been specifically assessed by the coaching staff".

Huynh Nhu said that when joining the team, in addition to completing the coaching staff's training plan, the player currently playing for Ho Chi Minh City also focused on self-nourishment and good rest to meet the training sessions.

"The upcoming Southeast Asian Women's Championship will be a difficult playground. The opponents are now getting stronger and have also improved a lot with many naturalized players. At this stage, the Vietnamese women's team is also getting younger, but Nhu believes the whole team will try. Playing at home with the support of fans will be the motivation for the Vietnam women's team to be determined to win, Huynh Nhu shared.

The Vietnam women's team will train in Quang Ninh from July 20 to 29, then move to Hai Phong from July 30 to prepare for the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Championship. In Group A, the team will meet Cambodia, Indonesia and Thailand on August 6, 9 and 12 respectively at Lach Tray Stadium.
