On June 20, members of the Vietnam U18 Women's Volleyball Team practiced their last session to depart for Thailand on June 21.
According to records, all 14 players maintained excitement and confidence to compete. Before going to Thailand, no players were injured.
Head coach Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa worked with the players for a short time but promptly performed the necessary professional exercises.
The Vietnam U18 women's volleyball team will compete in the 2026 Southeast Asian U18 Championship from June 23rd to 28th and the 2026 AFC U18 Championship from July 1st to 7th.
According to the draw at the 2026 Southeast Asian U18 Championship, coach Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa's team is in Group B with U18 Philippines, U18 Malaysia and U18 Kyrgyzstan. Group A includes U18 Thailand, U18 Australia, U18 Indonesia, U18 Hong Kong (China).
The draw at the 2026 AFC U18 Championship has brought the young female players of U18 Vietnam into Group D along with U18 Taiwan (China), U18 Korea and U18 India.
Notably, the results of this tournament will determine the spot to participate in the 2027 FIFA U19 World Championship.
Before this year's tournament started, in the most recent edition of the AFC U18 Championship in 2024, Vietnamese women's volleyball did not participate. We once participated in the 2014 AFC U18 Championship.
This year, 14 official players are registered to go to Thailand including: Bui Thi Anh Thao, Nguyen Mai Quynh, Bui Thi Huyen, Nguyen Cham Anh (main attackers); Nguyen Khanh Linh, Nguyen Thi Yen Nhi (volleyers); Le Thuy Linh, Trinh Huynh Bao Ngoc, Le Thi Kim Thu, Vu Mai Ngan (middle blockers); Nguyen Thi Huyen Trang, Do Que Tran (seconds pass); Quach Thi Hoai An, Le Thi Hang (libero).
