Host China brought the opening program with a unique art performance, which included a combination of modern robots and artists on the main stage.
This is the 6th time the Asian Beach Games has been held. This time, the Asian Olympic Council (OCA) and the host China Organizing Committee brought into competition 14 official sports (15 sub-sports) with 62 sets of medals.
The competing sports include 3x3 basketball, open water swimming, water polo, aquaathlon, beach athletics, beach handball, beach kabaddi, beach soccer, beach volleyball, beach wrestling, traditional boat racing, jujitsu, sailing, mountain climbing and beach teqball.
The Vietnamese sports delegation was present at the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Asian Beach Games. Two athletes Ba Truong Giang (beach teqball), Lu Ngoc Trinh (women's beach handball) are the flag bearers of the Vietnamese sports delegation.
We registered to compete in 26 events in 8 sports at the Games: beach athletics, beach wrestling, beach handball, jujitsu, traditional boat racing, swimming, sailing, beach teqball.
The Vietnamese sports delegation has 90 members participating in the 2026 Asian Beach Games and the head of the delegation is Mr. Le Thanh Ha (Deputy Head of the High-Performance Sports Department, Vietnam Sports Administration).
Currently, the main faces of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation are present in China to enter official competition from April 23. The Games will compete until April 30.
The goal of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation is to strive to win a gold medal in China this time. Among them, some sports that Vietnamese sports expect to achieve high results are swimming, athletics, jujitsu, beach wrestling, traditional boat racing, and beach handball.
