Today (April 18), the Vietnamese women's beach handball team departed for China to participate in the 2026 Asian Beach Games. This is the first Vietnamese sports team to go to China this time.
The 2026 Asian Beach Games is held from April 22 to April 30.
The opening ceremony will take place on the evening of April 22. Vietnamese sports teams will participate in the Games according to their own schedule (implemented according to the competition schedule).
The Vietnamese women's beach handball team is the reigning Asian champion. The Organizing Committee of the 2026 Asian Beach Games has drawn lots for the women's beach handball event.
Accordingly, Group A has teams from Vietnam, Philippines, Hong Kong (China), and Thailand. Group B has teams from China, India, Turkmenistan, Sri Lanka and Mongolia.
The Vietnamese women's beach handball team registered 10 players to participate in this Congress.
The coaching staff includes coaches Huynh Minh Ngon, Pham Duc Vuong. Beach handball of the 2026 Asian Beach Games organizes men's and women's events. Vietnamese sports only participates in women's events.
The Vietnamese sports delegation participating in the 2026 Asian Beach Games has 90 members. According to the plan, officials (including the Head of the delegation - Mr. Le Thanh Ha) will depart for China on April 20. On April 17, the countries that attended the Conference affirmed that it was conducted by the Organizing Committee in China.
