I would like to thank the coaches, leaders at all levels and fans, my teammates who have cheered for me, and my family has also given me more motivation to compete and achieve achievements," that is a very touching sharing once expressed by the female rowing athlete when winning a gold medal at SEA Games 33.
Friendly smiles and very open sharing are common in Ho Thi Duy. Many people say that Ho Thi Duy is approachable and does not hesitate to answer any questions because that is her friendly and simple personality, a child of Bac Lieu countryside (now Ca Mau).
Meeting Ho Thi Duy again after SEA Games 33, the young female athlete of the Vietnamese rowing team expressed: "After SEA Games 33, the results have been put aside by me.
Now, I continue to prepare professionally towards new tasks. SEA Games 33 is a beautiful memory, but ahead are many tournaments, I have to try harder.
In 2026, Ho Thi Duy will enter her 20th birthday. With more than 7 years of rowing training (including 3 years of competition), she has achieved good results in many domestic tournaments.
I came to rowing racing like a predestined relationship. I am passionate about sports, so when I was selected by my teacher, I practiced rowing from the beginning.
Just like that, I think this sport helps me gain more experience, especially helps myself mature," Ho Thi Duy recalled.
When asked by Ho Thi Duy what her most impressive competition result was, the female athlete did not hesitate to immediately mention the individual gold medal for women's boat with two paddles at SEA Games 33.
Because this is the first time she has participated in the Southeast Asian Games but won a valuable championship.
Statistics show that among the 6 medals of the Vietnamese rowing team at SEA Games 33 (including 4 gold medals, 1 silver medal, 1 bronze medal), Ho Thi Duy is the only rower to win the championship in the individual event.
At the present time, Ho Thi Duy is celebrating the Binh Ngo New Year 2026 with relatives in her hometown.
However, she expressed that she maintains the same pace of self-training to avoid being affected during the holidays.
Last year, Ho Thi Duy was a member who won a gold medal in the 4 women's lightweight boat event (with Luong Thi Thao, Nguyen Thi Giang, Pham Thi Thao) at the 2025 Asian Rowing Championship held in Vietnam.
After competing in the above tournament, the female player said that she learned a lot more about expertise against opponents in Asia.
This year, Ho Thi Duy is one of the rowing rowers who will be prepared for ASIAD 20 in Japan. The women's lightweight boat event is included in the ASIAD 20 rowing program.

If she achieves good form, Ho Thi Duy is capable of receiving an official spot to participate in this arena.
She once shared: "I don't dare to say anything in advance, everything will depend on expertise. I have to try to practice to have the best professional indicators and I hope to make a breakthrough in 2026".
