On the afternoon of January 6, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu and representatives of functional departments directly visited, encouraged and grasped the health situation of the two players.
According to information from VFF, Bui Vi Hao suffered an injury in the training session on January 4. Immediately after returning to Vietnam, this player was taken to Vinmec Hospital for in-depth examination. The diagnosis determined that Vi Hao suffered a right cheekbone injury, and it is expected to take about 6-8 weeks to treat and recover before he can return to training and competition.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Tan suffered an injury in the training session on December 28. Through medical examination, this player was determined to have a left shoulder soft tissue injury, the expected treatment time is about 2-3 weeks, after which his recovery ability will continue to be re-evaluated.
According to his personal wishes, Nguyen Tan returned to the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club for treatment, while Bui Vi Hao continued his recovery process at Becamex Ho Chi Minh City Club. The VFF Department of Sports Medicine will closely coordinate with the clubs, closely monitor and periodically check to ensure the best recovery process for the two players.
At the visit, General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu shared and encouraged the players' spirits, and provided specific guidance on appropriate living and training regimens during treatment, aiming for early recovery and returning to competition.
Although they cannot directly participate in the 2026 AFC U23 Championship finals, Bui Vi Hao and Nguyen Tan said they will watch the team's matches online and always look towards U23 Vietnam, cheering for their teammates in the journey at the tournament.
