VFF leaders visited and encouraged goalkeeper Doan Tuan Phong of the U19 Vietnam futsal team who is being treated for a knee ligament injury.

On the afternoon of January 14, Deputy Secretary General of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Nguyen Thanh Ha and representatives of functional departments visited and encouraged goalkeeper Doan Tuan Phong of the U19 Vietnam futsal team who is being treated at Vinmec Smart City International General Hospital (Hanoi).

Tuan Phong has just undergone surgery for a knee ligament injury after suffering an injury at the 2025 U19 Southeast Asian Futsal Championship.

Doan Tuan Phong is a promising young goalkeeper of Vietnamese futsal, who once won the title of Best Goalkeeper of the 2025 National U20 Futsal Championship in the U20 Thai Son Bac jersey.

At the national team level, he holds the role of number one goalkeeper of the Vietnam U19 futsal team at the Southeast Asian tournament held in Thailand at the end of 2025.

However, in the semi-final match against U19 Indonesia, Tuan Phong unfortunately suffered a pointed injury to his knee cross ligament and was forced to undergo surgery.

According to the assessment of the medical team, the goalkeeper born in 2007 needs at least 6 months to recover function before he can return to training and competition.

Visiting the hospital, Deputy General Secretary Nguyen Thanh Ha said that VFF will continue to care, accompany and create the best conditions for the treatment and recovery process of players.
