Vietnam hosts e-sports tournament gathering many top Asian teams

Vietnam will become a destination for many leading e-sports teams in Asia when it first hosts the Esports Grand Championship 2026.

Vietnamese e-sports will host the Esports Grand Championship (EGC) 2026 for the first time, an international tournament sponsored by the Southeast Asian Electronic Sports Federation and certified for Olympic standard achievements.

This event is within the framework of The Grand Esports 2026, taking place from July 9 to 12 in Hanoi.

EGC 2026 brings together teams from many countries with developed Esports backgrounds in Asia, competing in 4 disciplines including Street Fighter 6, Summoners War: Sky Arena, Audition and Au Mobile.

In the Street Fighter 6 event, the Vietnamese athlete will compete with representatives from Japan, Korea, Thailand and Singapore. These are all countries with strong traditions in the fighting game genre, promising to bring many quality matches.

Meanwhile, Summoners War: Sky Arena witnessed competition between Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore. The teams all possess many experienced athletes, creating matches that require high tactics.

With Audition, the tournament has the participation of Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Philippine teams. After the achievements at SEA Games 33, the Vietnamese team continues to aim for the goal of competing for titles at home, while accumulating more experience in the international arena.

In Au Mobile, Vietnamese representatives will face opponents from China, Thailand and Turkey. Players who pass the 2026 National Youth Electronic Sports Championship (VENC) will continue to participate in EGC to compete at the regional level.

Hosting the Esports Grand Championship 2026 is considered a new step forward for Vietnamese e-sports in the process of organizing international tournaments.

Besides the opportunity for audiences to watch matches right at home, the tournament also helps Vietnamese players rub shoulders with top Asian opponents, while expanding opportunities for exchange and improving professional skills.

Esports Grand Championship 2026 will take place at My Dinh Athletics Sports Palace (Hanoi) from July 9 to 12, as part of The Grand Esports 2026's series of activities with many activities for the e-sports community.
