The coaching staff of the Vietnam Road Cycling Team and key cyclists arrived in Aichi-Nagoya (Japan) on September 16.
At ASIAD 20, we registered 3 female cyclists to compete including Nguyen Thi That, Nguyen Thi Thu Mai, Nguyen Thi Thi and 3 male cyclists: Pham Le Xuan Loc, Nguyen Huong, Quang Van Cuong.
Among them, Nguyen Thi That is the most experienced and achieved ASIAD cyclist at the present time.
She was given the goal of striving to win a medal at ASIAD 20.
Nguyen Thi That once won a silver medal at ASIAD 17 held in 2014 in Korea.
In the following ASIAD 18 and ASIAD 19, Vietnam's No. 1 female cyclist has approached the achievement in the group that won medals in the women's bronze starting event.
According to registration, the Vietnamese road cycling team only participates in 3 events.
For women, 3 cyclists Nguyen Thi That, Nguyen Thi Thi, Nguyen Thi Thu Mai will compete exclusively in the women's bronze starting event on September 22.
For men, cyclists will compete in the men's individual timekeeping event (Pham Le Xuan Loc) on September 20th, then participate in the men's bronze starting event (Pham Le Xuan Loc, Nguyen Huong, Quang Van Cuong) on September 23rd.
The organizers of the ASIAD 20 road cycling event have announced the competition route.
Therefore, 6 Vietnamese cyclists began to get acquainted with the terrain and competition distance as soon as they arrived in Aichi-Nagoya (Japan).
The expected competition route starts in the women's row with a length of 91.3km and starts in the men's row with a distance of 160.5km.
