At 7:50 PM on June 1, 2026, world oil prices simultaneously increased. In which, WTI oil price was at 89.92 USD/barrel, up 2.56% USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 2.93%. Brent oil was at 92.86 USD/barrel, up 1.74 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 1.91%.
Oil prices rose after Israel decided to expand its military campaign in Lebanon. This move raises concerns that conflict in the region will escalate, affecting the negotiation process and ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran.
Previously, in May, Brent oil fell 19.26%, the strongest decrease in Brent oil since March 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic caused many economies around the world to close. Meanwhile, WTI oil also fell by 16.86% in May, recording the strongest monthly decrease since April 2025.
The selling prices of popular consumer gasoline and oil items on the market in the operating session on June 1 are as follows:
- E5RON92 gasoline: not higher than 23,258 VND/liter;
- E10 RON95-III gasoline: Zone 1 at 23,660 VND/liter; Region 2 is at 24,130 VND/liter.
- E10 RON95-V gasoline: Zone 1 at 24,560 VND/liter; Region 2 is at 25,050 VND/liter.
- Diesel oil 0.05S: not higher than 27,651 VND/liter;
- 180CST 3.5S fuel oil: not higher than 20,442 VND/kg.
Vietnam's gasoline and oil prices are currently lower than those of countries sharing the same border. Accordingly, gasoline and oil selling prices of neighboring Vietnam on May 28, 2026:
- Regarding gasoline prices: Thailand: 35,464 VND/liter (Government subsidies); Cambodia: 34,344 VND/liter (Government subsidies); Laos: 39,360 VND/liter; China: 35,667 VND/liter (Government price control); Vietnam: 24,154 VND/liter.
- Regarding oil prices: Thailand: 32,983 VND/liter (Government subsidies); Cambodia: 34,671 VND/liter; Laos: 40,104 VND/liter; China: 32,573 VND/liter (Government price control); Vietnam: 27,651 VND/liter.
