According to a survey at 2:13 p.m. on August 27, WTI oil prices decreased by 0.12 USD/barrel (down 0.19%), down to 63.13 USD/barrel. Brent oil price decreased by 0.17 USD/barrel (down 0.25%), down to 66.53 USD/barrel.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the world petroleum market this time (from August 14, 2025 to August 20, 2025) is affected by main factors such as: US crude oil inventories decreased more strongly than forecast; the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues... The above factors have caused world petroleum prices in recent days to fluctuate up and down depending on each commodity.
According to Mr. Doan Tien Quyet, data analysis expert of the Vietnam Petroleum Institute (VPI), in this week's price adjustment session, the retail price of E5 RON 92 gasoline may increase by 487 VND (2.5%) to 19,947 VND/liter, while RON 95-III gasoline may increase by 221 VND (1.1%) to 20,311 VND/liter.
VPI's model predicts that in this period, retail oil prices will continue to decrease, specifically kerosene prices may decrease by 1.6% to VND 17,534/liter, diesel may decrease by 1.5% to VND 17,632/liter, and mazut may decrease by 1.5% to VND 15,039/kg, remaining.
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price adjustment period, retail prices of gasoline may increase.
In particular, the price of RON 95 - III gasoline is forecast to increase by about 340 VND/liter; E5 RON 92 - II gasoline increases by about 370 VND/liter; Diesel increases by about 500 VND/liter.
In the adjustment session last week (8.21), the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased compared to the previous adjustment period, at VND19464/liter (up VND110/liter). RON 95-III gasoline price increased compared to the previous adjustment period, priced at VND 20,092/liter (up VND 208/liter).
Prices of oil products have decreased simultaneously. Of which, diesel 0.05S is priced at VND 17,905/liter (down VND 172/liter); kerosene has a new price of VND 17,814/liter (down VND 206/liter); mazut is priced at VND 15,116/kg (down VND 152/kg).
