Domestic coffee prices recover
This morning, the average price of green coffee beans was adjusted up by about 300 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Dak Lak also recorded a price of VND 95,500/kg. Coffee prices in Lam Dong reached VND95,100/kg. Coffee prices in Gia Lai are currently trading around VND95,400/kg.
Although recovering from the level of VND 95,200/kg recorded yesterday, domestic coffee prices are still 20,000 - 35,000 VND/kg lower than in early 2025, when coffee prices exceeded 120,000 VND/kg.
In February 2025, domestic daily coffee prices increased to an all-time high, with an average price of about 128,900 VND/kg, and up to 130,000 VND/kg in some localities.
World coffee prices increase and decrease in different directions
On the London Stock Exchange, Robusta coffee prices have had positive developments as all terms have increased slightly. Robusta's contract for delivery in September 2025 increased by 40 USD/ton, reaching 3,660 USD/ton; the terms for November 2025 and January 2026 also recorded an increase of 36 USD/ton and 33 USD/ton respectively, bringing the price to the 3,550 - 3,600 USD/ton range.
This recovery mainly comes from concerns about scarce supply in Vietnam, when the new crop coffee output is forecast to decrease due to unfavorable weather.
Meanwhile, the New York Stock Exchange recorded a negative performance in Arabica. Arabica contracts with a term of September 2025 fell sharply by 8.15 cents/lb to 291.95 cents/lb; December 2025 contracts fell by 8.45 cents/lb to 286.15 cents/lb; Longer terms such as March 2026 and May 2026 also lost 8.05 - 7.80 cents/lb, respectively, at 275 - 280 cents/lb. The recovery of the USD has caused investors to increase their selling.
Contrary to the consensus trend forecast, Robusta and Arabica prices are showing clear differentiation: Robusta benefits from high demand for Robusta, while Arabica is under pressure when inventories at warehouses certified by the New York exchange show signs of a slight increase.
