Domestic pepper price: inching slightly, keeping momentum
As of 12 o'clock today (16.4), domestic pepper continued to increase slightly from 500 - 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. The purchasing price is currently ranging from 156,500 - 159,500 VND/kg, an average of 158,000 VND/kg across the country.
Maintaining the leading position, Dak Nong and Dak Lak continue to be the locality with the highest price in the country, up to 159,500 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg compared to the previous session.
Gia Lai and Dong Nai province raised the price to 156,500 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg. Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Binh Phuoc are currently trading at VND 158,500/kg, holding a high level compared to the common ground.
World pepper price: Indonesia decreases, other markets stand at the price
World pepper prices recorded fluctuations in Indonesia when both black and white pepper decreased slightly, while key markets such as Vietnam, Malaysia and Brazil continued to be stable.
According to the International Pepper Association (IPC), Indonesia black pepper decreased by 0.24%, to 7,064 USD/ton; White pepper decreased by 0.25%, to 9,651 USD/ton.
In the opposite direction, the price of black pepper and white pepper in Malaysia, Brazil and Vietnam has no fluctuations. Vietnam kept the price of black pepper exported of 500 g/l at 6,600 USD/ton, type 550 g/l at 6,800 USD/ton; White pepper holds 9,600 USD/ton.

The market is generally in the waiting phase, with caution from traders before commercial signals and unclear supply.
Judgment and forecast
The strong demand increased to help the market vibrant again, opening a new price negotiation opportunities for the signed contracts. Many businesses take advantage of importing goods to avoid higher risks when taxes can be activated after the extension period.
In the country, scarcity of raw materials after the harvest is retained by farmers to wait for higher prices. This year's output is lower than last year, creating the expectation of pepper price reaching 160,000 VND/kg no longer far away.
According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA), Vietnam imported nearly 5,000 tons of pepper in March in March to serve processing and re -export. However, the pepper industry still faces pressure from production costs, limited supply and trade barriers.
