Domestic pepper prices: Shocking decrease, approaching 130,000 VND/kg
As of 11:30 today (17.), the domestic pepper market continued to decline, with an average decrease of VND1,900/kg. Currently, pepper purchasing prices are recorded at 133,000 - 134,000 VND/kg.
The provinces and cities in key regions are mostly at 133,000 VND/kg, down 1,500 - 2,000 VND/kg compared to the previous session's closing price.
Notably, Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces are anchored at 134,000 VND/kg, both falling by 2,000 VND/kg.

World pepper prices: Indonesia continues to slide
In the world market, pepper prices have remained largely stable. However, the Indonesian exchange - one of the busiest markets - extended its downward trend. Currently, these two items are listed at 7,499 USD/ton; down slightly by 0.01% (equivalent to 196,812 VND/kg). At the same decrease, white pepper was listed at 10,130 USD/ton (about 265,862 VND/kg).
In Vietnam, the export price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l remains fluctuating between 6,300 - 6,400 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper prices reached 9,300 USD/ton (equivalent to 244,079 VND/kg).
The Brazilian exchange remained unchanged, with pepper prices in this region currently at 6,175 USD/ton (about 162,063 VND/kg). Similarly, the Malaysian market continued to move sideways. Malaysia's white rice continues to hold the highest price globally at 11,850 USD/ton (equivalent to 311,004 VND/kg).

Assessment and forecast
Domestic pepper prices are under pressure from US trade instability, Middle East conflict and transportation costs increase by 125%.
Along with that, the import activities of enterprises have declined, and the signing of new contracts has become cautious due to unclear tariff policies. The downward pressure is expected to continue in the short term.
