Speaking at the closing of the 14th National Women's Congress for the term 2026 - 2031, Ms. Le Thi Thuy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women's Union said that the Congress highly unanimously approved the theme: "Vietnamese women promote tradition, bravery, intelligence, responsibility; build a strong Union organization; promote gender equality, realize national unity, join hands to build a democratic, rich, prosperous, civilized, and happy country".
With the action motto "Solidarity - Courage - Compassion - Creativity - Development", the Congress comprehensively assessed the results achieved in the past term, and affirmed the achievements of the women's movement and Union work thanks to the leadership of the Party, the concern of the State, the coordination of ministries, branches, localities and the companionship of organizations and individuals at home and abroad.
According to Ms. Le Thi Thuy, in the context of intertwined opportunities and challenges, officials, members and women from all walks of life across the country have promoted the tradition of solidarity, joining hands to overcome difficulties, and making positive contributions to the overall development of the country.
The Congress analyzed the advantages, difficulties and requirements set out in the new period, thereby determining the goals, tasks and key solutions for the 2026 - 2031 term.
The common goal is to promote the spirit of innovation, creativity, mastery of knowledge, confidence in integration and aspiration to rise up of Vietnamese women; actively participate in building a clean and strong Party and political system; build an effective and adaptable Association organization to the new context.
The Congress also identified mobilizing the participation of the whole society in promoting gender equality, improving material and spiritual life, and creating conditions for women to develop comprehensively.
Striving to 2030, Vietnamese women become a driving force for development, a source of happiness; the Vietnam Women's Union becomes a pioneering organization acting for equality and the development of women.
Notably, the Congress approved 12 key targets, 1 emulation movement, 1 campaign, 3 breakthroughs, 5 key tasks and groups of implementation solutions, showing high political determination in meeting the requirements of national development in the new period.
The Presidium of the Congress requested delegates after returning to their localities and units to urgently organize the study, thoroughly grasp and implement the Congress Resolution to officials, members and women of all strata; and at the same time review and supplement action programs and specific plans to soon bring the Resolution into life.
The Congress called on officials, members and women from all walks of life to continue to promote the glorious traditions of Vietnamese women; promote their roles, potentials and creativity in studying, working, and working; actively participate in building a clean and strong Party and political system, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Women's Congress.
Closing the Congress, Ms. Le Thi Thuy expressed her belief that with the bravery, intelligence and aspiration to rise up of Vietnamese women, the women's movement and Union work in the new term will continue to develop strongly, making worthy contributions to the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland in the new era of national development.
