Domestic pepper prices
As of 12:30 PM today (September 21), domestic pepper prices continued to hold at 138,300 VND/kg. Currently, the listed price range is in the range of 137,000 - 141,000 VND/kg.
At the end of the recent transaction, Gia Lai and Dong Nai continued to hold together at the threshold of 137,000 VND/kg.
Similarly, Ho Chi Minh City put it on the market at a price of 137,500 VND/kg.
Dak Lak area, after a sudden decrease of 1,000 VND/kg, continued to maintain a price of 139,000 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong, pepper prices are currently at the highest level in the whole region at 141,000 VND/kg.
World pepper price
In the world market, pepper prices adjusted down in all countries. Indonesia's black and white peppers are no exception, trading in the range of 6,886 - 9,428 USD/ton (equivalent to 180,483 VND/kg - 247,108 VND/kg), down 53 USD/ton and 72 USD/ton respectively.
Meanwhile, the price of Brazilian black pepper still sold to the market is 5,750 USD/ton (about 150,080 VND/kg). Black and white Malaysian pepper unexpectedly slipped in price after many months of stagnation, respectively 12,150 USD/ton and 9,250 USD/ton, down from 50 - 100 USD/ton.
In Vietnam's pepper export market, black pepper prices of 500 g/l and 550 g/l continue to trade at 6,070 - 6,130 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper is offered for sale at 8,450 USD/ton (equivalent to 221,475 VND/kg).
Assessments and forecasts
In the first 15 days of September 2026, Vietnam exported 10,915 tons of pepper, with a turnover of 70.0 million USD, an increase of 3.8% in volume compared to 10,514 tons in the first 15 days of August 2026.
In general, the growth momentum of pepper exports in the first half of September mainly came from the US and China, offsetting the decline in Europe, Africa and the UAE.
In the opposite direction, in the first 15 days of September 2026, Vietnam imported 959 tons of pepper, with a turnover of 5.3 million USD, down 40.9% in volume compared to 1,623 tons in the first 15 days of August 2026. Of which, black pepper reached 814 tons, accounting for 84.9%; white pepper reached 145 tons, accounting for 15.1%.
