World pepper prices: Same trend

In the world market, pepper prices remain unchanged in most countries. The Indonesian exchange - one of the most vibrant markets is no exception. These two items are traded in the range of 6,622 - 9,064 USD/ton (equivalent to 174,695 VND/kg - 240.226 VND/kg), increasing by 31 USD/ton and 42 USD/ton respectively.

Perspectives and forecasts

According to statistics from the Customs Department, for the whole year 2025, Vietnam's pepper exports reached 246.1 thousand tons, worth 1.66 billion USD, down 1.5% in volume but up 26.3% in value compared to 2024.

Vietnam's pepper exports in 2025 decreased in volume but increased in value compared to 2024 thanks to a significant increase in pepper export prices. However, Vietnam's pepper export prices tend to slow down in recent months.

Experts believe that in 2026, pepper prices are likely to remain at a high level and tend to increase, due to a sharp decline in global supply (forecast to decrease from 15-20%), low inventories, while world demand is increasing. However, Vietnam's pepper export value may increase slower than output, because businesses are under pressure from raw material shortages and increasingly strict technical barriers from major markets.
