Assessments and forecasts
According to VPSA, global pepper import volume in the first quarter of the year increased by about 5%. The US continues to maintain its position as the largest importer thanks to positive stockpiling moves from food corporations.
Looking at the medium-term trend, analysts assess that the pepper market will continue to be supported by the tight supply situation. If net buying from the US and Chinese markets continues to accelerate in the second half of the year, the international pepper price level is forecast to be anchored at a high level, even ready for a new price increase.
