On October 28, information from the Hanoi Market Management Department, on October 27, Market Management Team No. 1 - Hanoi Market Management Department inspected a business establishment at the address of Lien Can 6A-18, Dong Danh - Dong Coc auction area (Phu Luong ward, Hanoi city), owned by Mr. P.H.D.
This facility operates under the form of an individual business household but has not registered for business according to the provisions of law.
At the time of inspection, the authorities discovered in the facility's warehouse many Zara branded shoe, footwear, and glue products being sold and stored in large quantities, showing signs of counterfeiting the brand.
Initial counting results show that there are a total of 7,510 products, including 6,068 pairs of socks with the words "ZARA" printed on the product and packaging, 1,203 pairs of sandals with the "ZARA" label, and 239 pairs of shoes with the "ZARA" label.

Through the struggle, Mr. P.H.D confessed that all of the above goods were bought floating on the domestic market, from unknown people and without legal invoices or documents.
After importing goods, Mr. D took a photo of the product himself, posted pictures, described and selling prices on his personal Facebook page named "Phung Sim" to do business and trade online.
According to initial verification, the operation of this facility did not have a valid business license, and there were signs of violating industrial property rights and using trademarks protected in Vietnam by foreign enterprises.
Market Management Team No. 1 has drawn up a record, sealed and temporarily detained all goods with signs of counterfeiting the ZARA trademark, to serve the verification, investigation and handling work according to the law.
At the same time, the authorities are continuing to clarify the origin of goods, supply lines, online consumption channels as well as specific violations by the facility owner. The unit will also coordinate with the representative of the Zara brand owner in Vietnam to determine the level of infringement of industrial property rights, as a basis for handling.

The Hanoi Market Management Department recommends that consumers should be cautious when shopping through social networks, e-commerce platforms or online channels of unknown origin. Products with famous brands with unusually cheap prices often have the potential risk of being counterfeit, counterfeit, affecting the health and rights of buyers.
In addition, business households and individuals doing online trading need to proactively comply with regulations on business registration, origin of goods, labeling, proving legal origin and respecting intellectual property rights.
The production and trading of counterfeit goods will not only be subject to administrative sanctions and confiscation of exhibits, but in serious cases, criminal liability may be prosecuted. This is also an act of distorting the market, affecting the reputation of genuine brands and consumer confidence.

In order to prevent smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods at the end of the year, the City Steering Committee 389 recently established an interdisciplinary inspection team.
