On the afternoon of November 7, high tides on river systems in Ho Chi Minh City rose, exceeding alert level 3, causing many low-lying areas to be deeply flooded, making it difficult for people to travel.

At around 5:30 p.m., on Rach Cung Street (Binh Dong Ward), water from the nearby canal overflowed onto the road, causing a deep flood of 40-60cm.
Many students have to take off their shoes, sandals, and handcuff their pants after school to wade through water and go home. Some vehicles stalled, people had to walk in flooded lanes.

Many households have taken advantage of the opportunity to raise their belongings, place sandbags and board in front of the door to limit water from flooding into their homes.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa (Binh Dong ward) said that the high tide this time will rise faster and higher than previous times.
"On days like this, we have to stretch tarps and block the road, not water," said Ms. Hoa.

Similarly, on Pham The Hien Street (Binh Dong Ward), the floodwaters extended about 2km, obstructing traffic and daily activities.
Ms. Cao Thi Hoai - a person living on this road - said: "In the past few days, I have had to close my store early, prepare sandbags and boards to block the water. There is no business in that deep flooding".

According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, the water level measured on November 7 at Phu An station (Saigon river) and Nha Be (Dong Dien canal) reached 1.77-1.80m, 0.17-0.20m higher than alert level 3.
After reaching its peak today, the water level will decrease slowly on November 8 and gradually decrease after that. The peak water level above alert level 1 is expected to last until November 11.
