On the first working day of the new year, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Pham Duc Long and Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong visited and extended New Year greetings to Vietnam Post Corporation. The two Deputy Ministers highly appreciated Vietnam Post's efforts to innovate, improve service quality and fulfill its mission for the community, and believed that 2025 would be a year of prosperity, success, and strong growth momentum for the next period.
Deputy Minister Pham Duc Long affirmed that the Corporation has a development strategy, determination, internal solidarity, cohesion and sharing, we will succeed.
Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Bui Hoang Phuong emphasized that in recent times, Vietnam Post has been a pioneer, leading the way, participating in removing institutional bottlenecks in the postal sector. In the coming period, the Corporation needs to continue to promote that spirit even more.
According to a quick report, during the peak period of the Lunar New Year, Vietnam Post flexibly deployed plans, focused on exploiting, transporting, circulating and safely delivering millions of postal items before Tet.
From January 25 to February 1, 2025 (ie December 26 to the 4th day of Tet), the volume of goods and postal items transported reached 1,051 tons (an increase of 45% compared to the same period in 2024). Nearly 884,000 copies of Tet newspapers were successfully transported, exploited and published.

Right from the first days of the new year, when many businesses were still on holiday, Vietnam Post took the lead in exploiting and transporting the first shipments to customers. Typically, on February 1-2, 2025 (the 4th-5th day of Tet), Cau Giay Central Post Office coordinated with Hanoi City Post Office's Transportation and Warehouse Center to receive and exploit nearly 16,000 postal items from major customers.
In addition to delivering goods, letters, ensuring safety and security of KT1 delivery service (documents and papers of the Party and State), on the occasion of the Lunar New Year At Ty, financial and banking services also increased sharply. On average, there were over 1,000 transactions/day, the total amount of money received and paid daily reached nearly 900 billion VND, an increase of 12.5% over the same period last year. The balance of Postal Savings services across the network during Tet reached over 84,900 billion VND, an increase of over 1,135 billion VND compared to the end of 2024.
The payment of pensions and social insurance benefits for January and February 2025 was basically completed in localities with a total payment of over VND 8,400 billion for 758,949 beneficiaries. The payment of preferential allowances for Meritorious People and Tet gifts for policy families for January and February 2025 was successfully paid with a total amount of VND 3,050 billion. The payment of Social Security was carried out quickly with a total amount of VND 3,675 billion for more than 2,800 beneficiaries.
In order to meet people's demand for Tet goods during the Lunar New Year, Vietnam Post has deployed more than 3,000 points of sale at post offices and commune post offices. In particular, the Corporation has coordinated with the provincial/municipal Labor Federation to organize booths and participate in Trade Union Tet Market activities both online and in person at the local level.
According to Mr. Chu Quang Hao, General Director of Vietnam Post Corporation, Vietnam Post is entering a new phase with extremely urgent requirements and needs many breakthroughs to develop steadily with the country. This requires the entire system to join hands, be unanimous, and devote all its efforts to effectively implement the proposed strategic directions.
“With a new spirit and the will of “Determined to advance - Determined to win”, Vietnam Post has accelerated and acted decisively from the first day and month, determined to complete the growth target of 25% in 2025, creating a premise to increase income and make achievements to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Postal sector”, Mr. Chu Quang Hao emphasized.
Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang, Head of the Board of Members of Vietnam Post Corporation, said that from the first morning back to work after the Tet holiday, the entire network urgently started implementing the business scenario. The leaders of the Corporation thoroughly grasped and requested all officers, employees and workers to seriously start implementing the work effectively, with the highest quality and spirit.
Previously, at the meeting with officers and employees of the Agency Bloc before the New Year of the Snake, Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang, Head of the Board of Members of the Corporation, affirmed that the production and business results and growth of the entire Corporation in the first days of the year are good signs that the Corporation will take off in 2025.
