On the morning of July 9, the National Assembly Delegation (NA Delegation), the Standing Committee of the People's Council, the People's Committee and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City organized a conference to sign the Regulation on coordination of work for the 2026 - 2031 term to improve the effectiveness of coordination between agencies in performing political tasks, meeting the development requirements of the City after expanding the administrative space.
Reporting at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Nguyen Van Dung said that after merging with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City became a city with more than 14 million people, posing high requirements for unified institutions, policies and operating methods.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, the Coordination Regulation between the National Assembly Delegation, the Standing Committee of the People's Council, the People's Committee and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City is the foundation for strengthening synchronous coordination, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the political system's operations. The Regulation must be implemented practically with the spirit of "saying and doing", clearly defining the responsibilities of each agency, avoiding overlap and promoting digital transformation to shorten the processing time of work.
In the 2021 - 2026 term, the coordination mechanism between the 4 agencies achieved many outstanding results. The Ho Chi Minh City People's Council and localities before the merger have held 86 sessions, issued 1,732 resolutions, including 351 legal normative resolutions; and at the same time reviewed more than 1,600 resolutions after arranging administrative units to build a unified policy system.
The Ho Chi Minh City National Assembly Delegation organized 280 conferences and seminars to contribute opinions on 82 draft laws with more than 13,800 experts, businesses and people participating, contributing over 7,800 opinions. Supervision and social criticism activities focused on fields such as public investment, social security, planning, land and administrative reform, contributing to removing many obstacles in practice.
Voter contact work has also been innovated with 714 conferences of the National Assembly Delegation, 1,668 meetings of the People's Council and 657 meetings organized by the Fatherland Front. More than 92% of the more than 5,000 voter petitions have been resolved or transferred to competent authorities for handling.

Speaking to direct, Politburo Member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang emphasized that in the context of increasingly large workload and increasingly high requirements, the effectiveness of coordination between agencies will determine the quality of operation of the entire political system.
Mr. Tran Luu Quang requested agencies to strictly implement the Coordination Regulations after signing, promote the spirit of responsibility, clearly define the tasks of each unit and promote the application of digital transformation in information exchange and work processing, contributing to shortening processing time, improving the efficiency of management, administration and serving people and businesses.
Speaking at the closing of the conference, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Vo Van Minh said that the effectiveness of the Regulation will be verified by the results of implementation in practice. Immediately after the conference, agencies will urgently develop implementation plans, strengthen coordination, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles, contributing to building a political system in Ho Chi Minh City that operates effectively, efficiently and efficiently.
