80 years ago, on November 23, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh signed Decree No. 64/SL to establish a special Inspection Committee. This event marks the birth of the Vietnam Inspectorate and has become a traditional day of the industry.
Throughout the historical journey of 80 years of construction and development, the Inspectorate has strived to overcome all difficulties and challenges, always maintaining its mettle and courage, constantly striving to excellently complete all assigned tasks.
Previously, at a meeting with former leaders of the Government Inspectorate and leaders of departments under the Government Inspectorate through the periods (November 16), Government Inspector General Doan Hong Phong said that in the 2020-2025 term, despite facing many difficulties, the Government Inspectorate and the entire sector still achieved many outstanding results in the main areas of industry building, institution building and conducting inspections.
Implementing Resolution No. 18 of the Central Executive Committee, the industry focuses on streamlining the apparatus in the direction of streamlining, effectiveness and efficiency. At the central level, 12 inspection agencies under the Ministries have been merged into the Government Inspectorate since June 1, 2025; at the local level, District Inspectorates and Department Inspectorates have been reorganized into the Provincial and Municipal Inspectorates from July 1, 2025.
The Inspectorate has strongly innovated its thinking and leadership methods, focusing on inspecting areas at risk of corruption, waste and negativity.
During the 2020-2025 term, the whole industry has conducted 784,648 inspections and examinations; detected economic violations of more than VND 703,000 billion, more than 19,000 hectares of land; recommended administrative handling of over 16,000 collectives and 34,000 individuals; transferred 1,762 cases and 1,266 subjects to the investigation agency, a significant increase compared to the previous term.
In particular, in 2025, the Government Inspectorate completed the inspection of 563 backlogged and behind schedule projects in just 55 days, helping competent authorities remove difficulties and unlock resources for national development.
In just 35 days, the inspection of the construction of Bach Mai and Viet Duc Hospitals, Facility 2 in Ha Nam, was completed, which was considered a model, receiving high consensus from public opinion.
The Inspectorate has continued the glorious tradition, promoting the qualities of "Solidarity - Discipline - Corrdance - Innovation - Development", affirming its important role in monitoring and preventing corruption and waste, contributing to political stability and socio-economic development.
