In the afternoon of July 30, Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Trinh Van Quyet had a working session with press agencies on the focus of information and propaganda work.
Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Trinh Van Quyet clearly stated that the rapid development of technology, especially artificial intelligence (AI), can produce news articles in just a few seconds without censorship. While a journalistic work must go through many editing and censorship steps before publication.
In that context, the Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission believes that if the press does not innovate, is not sharp, is not fast and does not go ahead, it will be difficult to meet the requirements of reality.
He emphasized that when people understand, trust and agree with the Party's policies, it will create unity between the Party's will and the people's hearts, contributing to consolidating the great national unity bloc and creating a foundation for implementing the country's development goals.
One of the key requirements set by Mr. Trinh Van Quyet is to innovate the method of disseminating resolutions and conclusions of the Central Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat.
At the working session, many leaders of press agencies and leaders of ministries discussed how to communicate policies, handle fake news, and handle press copyright infringement in cyberspace.
Speaking at the working session, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra highly appreciated the innovations of the press in the past time, especially policy communication work.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, press agencies have closely followed the operating activities of the Government, ministries, and sectors, contributing to bringing guidelines and policies closer to people and businesses.
Concluding the working session, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Trinh Van Quyet requested press agencies to promote their role as official information channels in the context of increasingly widespread misinformation on social networks. The press must write correctly, truthfully, and reflect quickly so that people have a basis to verify information.
He also proposed that press agencies stop the situation of reporting in a polite manner, increase the depth of content, clarify the value and new points of policies; strongly shift from reflecting data to analyzing, interpreting and proposing solutions.
In addition, the press needs to continue to accompany the Government, ministries, branches and localities in implementing the goal of double-digit growth; spreading positive values, honoring good people, good deeds, arousing patriotism, aspiration to contribute, and at the same time promoting the application of AI, big data and digital technology in content production and distribution to improve the competitiveness of the press in the new period.
