On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21,25 - June 21, 2025), on the morning of June 20, at the Presidential Palace, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong had a meeting to honor outstanding national journalists.
Also attending were Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Nguyen Trong Nghia.
Also attending were members of the Party Central Committee, representatives of leaders of a number of central departments, ministries and branches, and 150 veteran journalists, outstanding journalists representing a large number of journalists nationwide.

According to the report at the meeting presented by Mr. Lai Xuan Mon - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission - on June 21, 1925, Thanh Nien Newspaper, founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc, issued its first issue - a press agency with the mission of propagating and preparing for the theory, ideology, and organization for the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam in 1930.

Since that historic milestone, Vietnamese revolutionary press has had a brilliant and proud century of development, making an important and great contribution to the cause of national independence, unity and national construction. With the red line of the entire orientation "The press is the shock force on the ideological and cultural front", the team of journalists have truly been "revolutionary soldiers" as President Ho Chi Minh advised.
Speaking at the meeting, President Luong Cuong reviewed the birth and development of the Vietnamese revolutionary press over the past century since Thanh Nien Newspaper was first published by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc on June 21, 1925.
President Luong Cuong emphasized that under the leadership of Uncle Ho and the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese revolutionary press is always loyal and closely associated with the revolutionary cause of the nation, always being a shock force on the ideological-cultural front, propagating, mobilizing, mobilizing, gathering the masses to unite, fighting for revolutionary ideals and national aspirations, truly contributing excellently to the great and great achievements of historical significance of the country.
The President affirmed that the country is entering a new era, with burning aspirations, to develop the country richly, prosperously and happily, in which, with its mission and role, the press must always be a responsible and reliable companion, must be a shock absorber and pioneer in that great cause.
Grasping modern media trends
Note that as revolutionary soldiers, Vietnamese journalists need to maintain political courage, professional ethics, heart, ability, and talent; maintain the passion for the profession, be loyal to the revolutionary ideals of the Party, the cause and aspirations of the nation, and be closely attached to the people. The President affirmed that this is the highest requirement for journalists and revolutionary journalists to be able to create truly valuable journalism works, to discover and promptly reflect the truth of life.

In the context of the press developing in the era of science, technology, innovation, digital transformation becoming a strategic pillar, President Luong Cuong affirmed that the press must grasp that inevitable development trend, resolutely and urgently innovate comprehensively, synchronously and in accordance with the specific laws of the press to create press products with the breath of the times, creativity, new exploration of content and methods of expression; proactively grasp the modern media trend, gradually create a new model of journalism in the period of digital transformation, the rapid development of science, technology...
The President suggested that central and local agencies, according to their functions and tasks, should proactively coordinate in research and proposal, perfecting mechanisms and policies, and creating conditions for journalists and journalists to make a living by their profession, love their profession, and feel secure in their profession.
