Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has just signed Official Dispatch No. 153/CD-TTg dated August 30, 2025 of the Prime Minister on focusing on responding to storm No. 6 in 2025.
The dispatch clearly states that storm No. 6 (international name Nongfa) moves rapidly (speeding about 20-25 km/h) towards the sea and mainland of the Central region of our country.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting this evening (August 30), storm No. 6 will make landfall in the provinces of Ha Tinh - Bac Quang Tri, these are areas affected by storms and floods due to the impact of storm No.2; provinces from Thanh Hoa to Hue city have heavy to very heavy rain; there is a very high risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas, along rivers, urban areas.
This is a fast moving storm, making landfall during the weekend and is taking place activities to prepare for the National Day on September 2.
To proactively respond to storm No. 6 and floods caused by the storm, the Prime Minister requested:
Chairmen of the People's Committees of the above provinces and cities organize regular monitoring and updating of information on storm and flood developments, to proactively direct the implementation of response work in accordance with specific developments in the locality.
In which, focus on reviewing and counting ships and vehicles operating at sea; By all measures, informing the developments of the storm to ships and vehicles still operating at sea; instructing them to move out and not enter areas at risk of being affected by the storm; calling for and instructing ships and vehicles to safe storm shelters.
Guiding and supporting people to deploy necessary measures to ensure safety for boats at anchorages (not allowing subsidence at shelters), especially beware of thunderstorms and lightning that can cause damage before the storm directly affects them.
Proactively arrange forces, means and organize the implementation of support for evacuation and relocation of people in unsafe areas, especially in weak houses, residential areas in low-lying areas, areas at risk of coastal landslides, riverbanks, areas affected by large waves, floods due to rising sea levels, floods, and at risk of flash floods and landslides.
Resolutely do not let people stay on boats, cages, or aquaculture hutes when the storm directly affects them.
The Minister of Industry and Trade directs the work of ensuring the safety of hydroelectric dams; ensuring the safety of power systems, taking proactive measures to respond to incidents in forecast areas at high risk of being cut off due to flooding and landslides; ensuring the supply of essential goods.
The Ministry of National Defense and the Public Security direct the preparation of plans, proactively arrange forces and mobile means to support people in localities in areas at high risk of being cut off and isolated due to the impact of storms and floods; be ready to deploy response and rescue work when required.
The Ministers of the Ministries of Construction, Culture, Sports and Tourism, Science and Technology, Education and Training and relevant ministries and branches, according to their assigned functions and tasks, closely monitor the situation, proactively direct and guide the implementation of response work in accordance with actual natural disaster developments, ensure safety, and limit damage to sectors and management fields.
