At the press meeting introducing the 10th Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange on March 10, Major General Van Ngoc Que - Deputy Head of the Political Department of the Border Guard (BĐBP) - said that through this Exchange activity, for border protection forces in general and BĐBP in particular, there are many advantages in maintaining law and activities at the border.
Providing information about the general situation at the border, Major General Van Ngoc Que emphasized that for the Border Guard, 1 new station has been established, with a total of 434 border guard stations nationwide.
The Vietnam - China border line alone has 72 border posts (5 international border posts, 7 border posts, and the remaining 60 border posts).
For border protection management forces, the Border Guard is currently cooperating with 12 forces from neighboring countries.

For activities in the 10th Vietnam - China Border Defense Friendship Exchange, in addition to welcoming ceremonies, farewell ceremonies, and talks of the high-level military delegation of the two countries, there is also a groundbreaking ceremony for the Hai Son commune health station friendship project. The Ministry of National Defense has invested 45 billion VND in this project, which was started and built in Luc Phu village (near Bac Son border post, Quang Ninh).
There are activities of planting friendship trees, launching joint patrols, joint training with live-fire drills in the Gulf of Tonkin between the two navies; visiting Tran Phu High School. Here, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and the Vietnam Border Guard will donate 1 classroom, equipped with computers and large LED screens installed in the school hall.
In addition, there is a visit to a unit of the border protection forces of the two countries, for the Vietnamese border guards, they will visit Tra Co border post; the Chinese side will visit the Chinese border guard company; Laying wreaths at the Vietnam - China People's Revolutionary Martyrs' Memorial. These activities have been prepared for deployment, serving the general rehearsal on March 12.
In addition to official activities, there are side activities such as preliminary summaries and twinning of residential clusters on both sides of the border. Currently, it is being negotiated and identified as Cua Khau village, Hoanh Mo commune (Quang Ninh province) and Dong Trung village, Dong Trung town, Phong Thanh area (China). The venue is at the Vietnam - China Friendship Cultural House in Hoanh Mo commune.
Military medicine of the two countries also has a program to provide medical examination and treatment for 1,000 people in border areas, giving 100 scholarships to students and 50 breeding cows to households in difficult circumstances in the Vietnamese border area.
Currently, all activities have been planned for implementation, preparation work, detailed training and are being submitted to superiors for approval" - Major General Van Ngoc Que said.
