On the morning of January 18, at the large hall of the Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee headquarters, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan presented 700 gifts to poor households, workers and children in difficult circumstances in Ca Mau.
Briefly reporting to the Vice President and the working delegation, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province Pham Thanh Ngai said that in 2024, Ca Mau province achieved many important results, with an economic growth rate of 7.09%, per capita income of nearly 73 million VND, and state budget revenue of 6,158 billion VND, exceeding the assigned estimate by more than 15%. The whole province reduced more than 2,000 poor households, the overall poverty rate of the province was only 0.94%, equivalent to 2,890 households.
Ca Mau is always consistent with the motto of socio-economic development to care for a better life and bring real enjoyment to the people.
On the same afternoon, at the hall of Hoa Binh District Party Committee, Bac Lieu province, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan presented many gifts to policy families, workers, and poor households in Bac Lieu province.
In a quick report to the Vice President, Chairman of the Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee Pham Van Thieu said that last year, although Bac Lieu province still faced difficulties, special attention was paid to caring for the poor and policy families; the poverty rate was below 1%; the whole province had 64/64 communes and wards completing the new rural area; the province's seafood export was the best ever.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province also said that next March, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will coordinate with Bac Lieu to organize a Salt Festival.
Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony in Ca Mau and Bac Lieu, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan acknowledged and commended the achievements and comprehensive development of Ca Mau and Bac Lieu provinces in carrying out political tasks, especially in caring for and comprehensively improving people's lives.
The Vice President suggested that Ca Mau and Bac Lieu provinces prepare well for the upcoming Party Congresses at all levels; provincial leaders at all levels need to promote good revolutionary traditions, join hands and unite to well carry out both strategic tasks: socio-economic development and national defense, together with the whole country firmly entering a new era, an era of the Vietnamese people's rise.
In socio-economic development, Ca Mau and Bac Lieu continue to thoroughly grasp the directions of the Party and State leaders, especially those of General Secretary To Lam, on comprehensive, rapid and sustainable development orientations.
