On February 14, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs' Electronic Information Portal, this agency held a conference to appraise the Project to classify administrative units (ADUs) of Krong Buk district in Dak Lak province as type II district-level ADUs and type I ADUs in Dong Hoa town, Phu Yen province.
According to the Project on classifying ADUs, Krong Buk district in Dak Lak province is a type III district-level ADU, proposed to be classified as a type II district-level ADU and Dong Hoa town ADU, Phu Yen province is a type II district-level ADU, proposed to be classified as a type I district-level ADU.
Dak Lak province has 13,070.41 km2 of natural area; has 15 district-level administrative units and 184 commune-level administrative units.
Based on the characteristics of the local socio-economic situation, currently, Krong Buk district has a natural area of 357.68 km2, with 7 commune-level administrative units, including: Pong Drang town and 6 communes: Chu Kbo, Cu Ne, Tan Lap, Ea Ngai, Cu Pong and Ea Sin (there is 1 commune in area III, 5 communes and 1 town in area II); of which, there are 37 ethnic minority hamlets, 19 villages and hamlets with special difficulties, with 14 ethnic groups living in the district.
The total population of the district is 75,059 people, ethnic minorities account for 35.08% of the total population of the district. The district's main economy is the agricultural economy, accounting for more than 50% of the economic sector structure. The socio-economic situation is developed stably, national defense and security are maintained.
The proposal to classify administrative units of Krong Buk district from type III to type II is appropriate and ensures compliance with regulations.
According to statistics of standards for calculating the classification score of ADUs of Krong Buk district, it reached 53.1 points. Pursuant to the provisions of Clause 4, Article 23 of Resolution No. 1211/2016/UBTVQH13, the proposal dossier of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee and the total score achieved by the administrative unit, Krong Buk district meets the standards of the type II district-level administrative unit.

Regarding Phu Yen province, there are 5,025.99 km2 of natural area and a population of 887,700 people with 9 district-level administrative units and 106 commune-level administrative units.
Dong Hoa town has 265.67 km2 of natural area, population of 141,681 people (permanent residents 141,297, temporary residents 384 people); has 10 commune-level administrative units (including: 5 wards and 5 communes).
According to statistics on standards for calculating the classification score of ADUs of Dong Hoa town, it reached 77.62 points. Pursuant to Clause 2, Article 23 of Resolution No. 1211/2016/UBTVQH13, the proposal dossier of the People's Committee of Phu Yen province and the total score achieved by the administrative unit, Dong Hoa town meets the standards of the administrative unit at the district level of type I.
The delegates said that the proposal to classify the administrative unit of Krong Buk district in Dak Lak province as a type II district-level administrative unit and a type I administrative unit in Dong Hoa town, Phu Yen province has ensured the conditions, standards; order, procedures, documents, projects... according to regulations.
The People's Committees of Dak Lak and Phu Yen provinces have developed a Project and organized to collect voters' opinions, through People's Councils at all levels with very high approval.
Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vu Chien Thang requested the Department of Local Government to coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs of Dak Lak and Phu Yen provinces and relevant units to receive and complete the Projects as required by the Appraisal Council to submit to competent authorities for consideration and decision.
At the same time, the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs also requested Dak Lak and Phu Yen provinces to review and ensure the accuracy and consistency of the system of tables, information and data in the dossier.
