No way back
Mr. Nguyen Van Hon, owner of Hoang Hon tourism chain, Mui hamlet, Dat Mui commune, Ngoc Hien district, Ca Mau province, recalled: just 20 years ago, this place was an oasis, because there were no roads or bridges. It takes a few days to get to Ca Mau. "At that time, I only dared to dream of having a road to Ngoc Hien district, which was very fun, I thought the national highway would pass, there would be national grid electricity, clean water... Then tomorrow there would be a highway, there would be Hon Khoai port... 50 years of liberating the South and unifying the country are no happier than now".

Mui Land, the land at the end of the South, is changing day by day with the development of the country.
In particular, the Can Tho - Ca Mau expressway (section through Hau Giang - Bac Lieu - Ca Mau) helps shorten the connection time from Ho Chi Minh City to Ca Mau; Ca Mau airport is being upgraded to a level 4C airport, aiming to open more international routes in the future; Hon Khoai General Seaport and Nam Can Port are modernly planned, serving freight and passenger transport by sea.

At a recent working session with the Western provinces, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed to study the construction of a railway to Ca Mau; start construction of the Ca Mau - Dat Mui city expressway this year.
Infrastructure not only helps Ca Mau increase competitiveness in attracting investment but also creates favorable conditions for the circulation of goods, promoting regional linkages with the Mekong Delta provinces.

Towards 2030 and beyond, with a vision to 2045, Ca Mau aims to become a dynamically developing locality, with a green economy, clean industry, high-quality services - tourism and modern technology-based agriculture. In particular, private investment is considered the main driving force for growth.
In the joyful atmosphere of the whole country celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification, Ca Mau province is not only proud of its achievements but also affirms its determination to innovate in management, economic development and international integration.

From a land once considered remote and swollen, Ca Mau has now become an attractive investment destination in the region. With a clear development strategy, a transparent investment environment, flexible support mechanisms and strong commitments from the government, Ca Mau is gradually creating attraction for large investors, taking the Dat Mui region off in the integration period.
Ca Mau has many new breakthroughs
Under the scheme of arranging provincial and September units in September, Bac Lieu merged with Ca Mau to become Ca Mau province (new). The advantage of Ca Mau is the three sides of the border, the province with the largest coastline in the country.
After Ca Mau and Bac Lieu provinces merged, the brackish water shrimp farming area of this locality reached nearly 407,251 hectares, with an output of 509,360 tons in 2024.

In terms of both area and output, Ca Mau province after the merger will become the largest shrimp farm in the country, accounting for 39.5% of output and 54.3% of shrimp industry area, respectively.
In 2024, Ca Mau province announced that shrimp export turnover will reach 1.27 billion USD, while Bac Lieu will be 1.13 billion USD. These two localities account for 61.5% of the total shrimp export turnover of the country. In total, the shrimp export turnover in these two localities after the merger will reach 2.4 billion USD.
According to statistics from the Department of Finance of Ca Mau, the province has more than 320 valid investment projects, with a total registered capital of nearly 100,000 billion VND. Notable among them are projects in fields such as renewable energy, aquaculture and high-tech agriculture...

In recent years, the province has recorded a clear increase in the number and scale of investment projects. Key projects such as: Ca Mau LNG Power Plant, coastal wind power farm cluster in Dam Doi, Ngoc Hien, or super-intensive shrimp farming area applying high technology have contributed to changing the face of the local economy.
Ca Mau province does not have many favorable traffic conditions like other localities, but has very unique potential. Ca Mau also has strong changes in investment procedures, reformed administrative procedures, and created opening for investment...
Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Pham Thanh Ngai said: We are building the image of Ca Mau as the southernmost point of the country. The province is always ready to welcome investors.
