On July 4, Party Central Committee member and Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long chaired a conference to review 5 years of implementing the Traditional Medicine Development Program (TCD), combining PCD with modern medicine.
Dr. and People's Doctor Dau Xuan Canh - Chairman of the Vietnam Oriental Medicine Association - said that there are currently no regulations on medical and pharmaceutical training.
"This is the space that we hope to have instructions on training for this group in the direction of regular training and vocational training," said Mr. Dau Xuan Canh.
At the same time, he recommended that the salary of doctors trained by the occupational transfer method can be submitted to the National Medical Council for appraisal to issue a certificate. If this subject is properly trained and controlled, the situation of "unstable salary" will be avoided.

Discussing this opinion, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan said that the Ministry was assigned to draft a directive on strengthening the combination of traditional medicine with modern medicine; promoting research, application of science, technology, innovation and creativity to develop Vietnamese traditional medicine in the coming period.

Concluding the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long proposed to have a worthy position in terms of profession for YDCT human resources.
Complete procedures soon to build a new campus 2 of the Vietnam Academy of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy.
Regarding science and technology, the Deputy Prime Minister said that there must be scientific research with our mark. "I support the idea of having Vietnamese traditional medicine products similar to OCOP products." There must be a synchronous movement by the Insurance agency in promoting the use of these products.
Regarding investment resources, specific resolutions and projects will have proposals to focus on a number of key hospitals.
Regarding the source of medicinal herbs, the Deputy Prime Minister said that we should study the model of the former Quang Nam (now Da Nang) with the Project on developing and forming a medicinal industrial center in Quang Nam province, with Ngoc Linh ginseng as the main plant.
The Deputy Prime Minister agreed with the opinion on the combination, in which the State creates conditions for policy mechanisms. There must be science and technology, "sometimes the products we produce are very good but do not know how to transport, store, and process them, then the quality decreases. And only a little deviation in the process, not scientifically speaking, it cannot be sold".
Emphasizing the indispensable role of businesses, the Deputy Prime Minister stated that large corporations must invest in this field, to support farmers and scientists to create specific pharmaceuticals.
