Beware of the accusation of taking advantage of storm No. 5 to fight the damage

Storm No. 5 (international name Kajiki) has made landfall in the northern central provinces while the armed forces (LLVT) and our people are gathering to practice parading and parade to prepare for the 80th Anniversary of the success of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). To respond to the storm, the Government, ministries, branches and armed forces have urgently taken action and have specific response plans.

fabricated rumors for political motives

Taking advantage of this time, in cyberspace, some individuals, hostile organizations, political opportunities, and even some people without knowledge have deliberately ignored the efforts of our army and people to spread false information and propaganda. They said that the army was "parading" so there was no force to help people cope with the storm. More hinted, they also cut and fake, creating deserted stories in the form of videos and clips with distorted, distorted, and slanderous words about the Party, State, and Army. They said: The Party, State and People's Army of Vietnam only take care of parades, parades, leaving the people behind in the storms and floods in the Central region...

It must be said that these are not only extremely untrue and blatant offers, but behind them are also powerful political plots to incite, divide solidarity, and reduce people's trust in our Party, State and Army; causing difficulties in preparing for the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 and the work to overcome the consequences of storm No. 5.

People's safety is paramount

In fact, before storm No. 5 made landfall, the Government urgently mobilized forces, mainly soldiers of Military Region 4, to evacuate nearly 600,000 people in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Tri, Hue provinces... In the spirit of "People's safety is paramount", the Army has deployed more than 16,500 soldiers and 107,000 militia to both respond to the storm and ensure security, order, rescue and relief when necessary... According to the assessment of the authorities, storm No. 5 is the strongest storm in 2025. However, with that proactiveness, the Army has contributed to minimizing the damage caused by the storm.

Immediately after the storm, implementing the Prime Minister's direction: Do not let people go hungry, cold, thirsty, homeless, or lack clothing..., the armed forces units, in which the core is the army, police, and militia, are mobilized to participate in helping people overcome the consequences, support rescue, clean up, restore electricity and water systems and provide essential relief. The army organized groups to visit and encourage the families of the severely damaged people, providing instant noodles, drinking water, medicine, blankets, etc. to the people. Along with that, the Army has advised local Party committees and authorities to review residential areas in low-lying areas and flooded areas to promptly respond to flash floods and landslides due to heavy rain that lasted for many days after the storm.

Park - natural disaster prevention and control is also a task

reality has proven that the army can deploy many tasks at the same time, in which, natural disaster prevention and control, rescue - relief is a permanent task, top priority. The army has identified: Natural disaster prevention, control, and rescue as a "peacetime combat mission". To carry out this important task, the army is always ready to deploy timely rescue plans to help people overcome the consequences.

For the parade mission, this is a military ceremony. The celebration includes a parade and march on September 2, 2025 to honor the victory of the August Revolution in 1945 and the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. This is also an opportunity for the entire people and army to affirm their solidarity, bravery, cultural identity and development aspirations, while sending a message about a peaceful, friendly, integrated Vietnam and reaching international standards.

Parading and natural disaster prevention and control are both important tasks. However, when there are urgent situations, the top priority of the army is to mobilize forces to respond, relocate, evacuate people, rescue and help people overcome the consequences. It is completely normal for the army to deploy two tasks at the same time. The incorrect view is that the Party, State and Army "only care about parades, parades, leaving people behind to wade through storms and floods" or the army "goes right" to parade, so "all people" do not have the force to help people cope with storms... which is unfounded, completely wrong and a blatant slander. We need to be very vigilant with accusations of taking advantage of natural disasters such as storm No. 5 to distort, incite, and sabotage. Especially in times like these, we really need the solidarity and unity of the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army.
