On October 16, according to the Government Electronic Information Portal, the Vietnam Coast Guard held a conference to announce the Minister of National Defence's decision to merge and reorganize the Logistics Department and the Technical Department into the Logistics - Technical Department under the Vietnam Coast Guard. Lieutenant General Le Quang Dao, Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard chaired the conference.
At the conference, delegates heard the announcement of the Decision of the Minister of National Defence on merging and reorganizing the Logistics Department and the Technical Department into the Logistics - Technical Department under the Vietnam Coast Guard; the Decision of the General Department of the Vietnam People's Army on promulgating the organization and staffing chart of the Logistics - Technical Department under the Vietnam Coast Guard.
Speaking at the conference, on behalf of the Party Committee Standing Committee and the Head of the Command, Lieutenant General Le Quang Dao - Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard - acknowledged and commended the agencies and units for actively and well performing the preparation work for the merger.
At the same time, he emphasized that the merger of the Logistics Department and the Technical Department into the Logistics - Technical Department is a major policy to thoroughly and seriously grasp the Party and State's viewpoints on building a lean, strong, and modern Army in the current situation, in line with reality and meeting the requirements and tasks in the new situation.
In the coming time, agencies and units need to do a good job of disseminating and deploying tasks to each department; continue to closely follow reality, regularly pay attention to and encourage cadres, employees and soldiers at all levels to proactively overcome difficulties, compete to successfully complete tasks in their assigned positions and responsibilities.

In the coming time, the unit will continue to promote the achievements; organize to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement resolutions, directives and instructions of all levels, clearly define political tasks, unite, unify, have high determination, quickly stabilize all aspects, organize and well perform logistics and technical tasks right from the first days of the merger, without interrupting the tasks.
