On July 13, in Hanoi, the Central Internal Affairs Commission organized a conference to summarize the work in the first 6 months of 2026 of the Party's Internal Affairs sector and the activities of the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness, and Negative Phenomena (PCTNLPTC). The conference was organized in the form of direct connection to 34 provinces and cities nationwide.
At the conference, Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Le Minh Tri highly appreciated the results achieved by the Steering Committees for PCTNLPTC and the Internal Affairs Commissions of provincial and city Party committees in the first 6 months of 2026.
Localities have proactively issued many documents to concretize the Central Government's guidelines, resolutions, and conclusions, especially having issued programs and plans to implement the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress.
Regarding tasks for the coming time, Mr. Le Minh Tri requested localities to urgently focus on concretizing and organizing the implementation of resolutions and conclusions of the Central Government.
In the context of organizing two-level local governments, provincial-level PCTNLPTC Steering Committees should soon complete regulations on functions, tasks, powers and working regulations, especially focusing on controlling power and preventing TNLPTC at the commune level.
Regarding waste prevention and control, promoting digital transformation and improving the quality of the contingent of officials, Mr. Le Minh Tri requested that waste prevention and control is not only for money and assets but also must focus on preventing and combating waste of time and development opportunities.
Provincial-level Steering Committees selected a number of typical wasteful cases and incidents to focus on directing handling, creating deterrence and prevention.Localities urgently review the implementation of the Politburo's regulations on power control; compile lists and develop plans to handle redundant, slow-progressing, prolonged, and wasteful projects in the area.
According to reports at the conference, in the first 6 months of 2026, the Party's Internal Affairs sector and Provincial-level Steering Committees for PCTNLPTC have successfully completed tasks according to the set programs and plans, contributing to strengthening Party building and rectification, improving the effectiveness of PCTNLPTC struggle, maintaining political stability, and creating a favorable environment for socio-economic development.
At the local level, provincial-level Steering Committees have issued more than 5,000 leadership and direction documents on PCTNLPTC work. To date, 29 out of 34 localities have issued programs and plans to implement Resolution No. 04-NQ/TW and Plan No. 03-KH/TW.
The Central Internal Affairs Commission also advised and directed to improve the operational efficiency of the Central Steering Committee and the Provincial Steering Committee; strengthen power control, PCTNLPTC associated with building 2-level local governments, strictly handle violations, no forbidden zones, no exceptions.
At the local level, provincial-level Steering Committees have conducted 57 inspections and supervisions on power control and PCTNLPTC associated with the operation of local governments at two levels; strengthened supervision of the implementation of new guidelines and policies of the Party, key projects and works, the implementation of responsibilities of heads, financial management, assets, headquarters and resources after arranging the organizational structure; and at the same time directed the detection and strict handling of many cases and incidents of TNLPTC.
