On June 18, in Hanoi, the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness, and Negative Phenomena (PCTNLPTC) (Steering Committee) held the 30th Session to discuss and give opinions on the results of implementing the Work Program for the first 6 months of the year and key tasks for the last 6 months of 2026, along with some other important contents.
At the Meeting, General Secretary, President To Lam - Head of the Steering Committee delivered a concluding speech and requested a number of contents, which are:
The work of preventing and combating corruption, wastefulness, and negativity must be placed in a higher and more comprehensive requirement; this work must be an important component of integrity, discipline, efficiency and development of national governance.
Fighting corruption is to clean up power; fighting negativity is to maintain public service standards; fighting wastefulness is to protect time, assets, opportunities and development resources of the country. Doing this job well contributes to building a clean and strong Party, State and political system; consolidating people's trust; creating a stable, transparent, and healthy environment for rapid and sustainable development.

Strongly shift from handling consequences to preventing from the root, early, and remotely; from handling cases to perfecting institutions; from reviewing statistics to thorough handling; from recovering assets at the final stage to monitoring with data.

The work of preventing and combating corruption, wastefulness, and negativity serves socio-economic development; do not be an officer who does not dare to do it, shirks responsibility, avoids responsibility, or is afraid of responsibility because of preventing and combating corruption, wastefulness, and negativity.
In the coming time, it is necessary to control power more tightly, improve institutions faster, monitor better with data, recover assets sooner, and handle responsibilities more specifically.
Institutionalizing many guidelines, mechanisms, policies, and laws that are fundamental and strategic
Previously, the report of the Steering Committee stated that since the 29th Session, although having to focus on implementing many major, important, and strategic tasks of the country, Party committees, Party organizations, functional agencies, and members of the Steering Committee have made many efforts, proactively and drastically implemented the Work Program and the guiding conclusions of the General Secretary, President, and Head of the Steering Committee, achieving many positive results, making important contributions to the work of building and rectifying the Party and promoting socio-economic development.
That is, directing the concretization and institutionalization of many guidelines, mechanisms, policies, and laws that are fundamental and strategic, both resolutely and persistently fighting against PCTNLPTC, and removing difficulties and obstacles, unlocking resources, serving the goal of double-digit growth.
In the first 6 months of the year, the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat have issued over 30 resolutions, directives, regulations, and conclusions on Party building, political system, socio-economic development, and PCTNLPTC.
The National Assembly and the Government have directed the review, amendment, supplementation, and promulgation of nearly 300 legal documents to promptly institutionalize the Party's new policies, overcome loopholes and inadequacies, remove bottlenecks and strengthen decentralization and delegation of power, associated with power control, preventing corruption, wastefulness, and negativity.
The Politburo has consolidated the Central Steering Committee and the Provincial Steering Committee on PCTNLPTC. The Steering Committee and the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee have directed the synchronous implementation of solutions for both prevention, detection, and handling of corruption, wastefulness, and negativity; especially focusing on directing the removal of difficulties and obstacles in recovering corruption, wastefulness, and negativity assets; handling projects and works that are behind schedule, prolonged backlogs, and redundant houses and land after arranging the apparatus. PCTNLPTC functional agencies coordinate more closely, systematically, and substantively.
