Handling, putting into operation, using 14, 992 redundant land and housing facilities
On June 18, in Hanoi, the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness, and Negative Phenomena (PCTNLPTC) held its 30th Session under the chairmanship of General Secretary and President To Lam - Head of the Steering Committee.
At the Meeting, the Steering Committee announced the Decision to consolidate the Steering Committee into 19 members according to Decision No. 166-BCĐ/TW, dated May 15, 2026 of the Politburo.
Announcing the results of the 30th Meeting of the Central Steering Committee for PCTNLPTC organized by the Central Internal Affairs Commission (Standing Agency of the Steering Committee) said that regarding the results of work in the first 6 months of 2026, the Steering Committee has focused on reviewing and handling slow-progressing projects, prolonged backlogs, risks of loss and waste, and redundant houses and land after arranging the organizational structure.

From the beginning of the year to now, the Government, ministries, branches, and localities have reviewed and updated 1,501 more projects, bringing the total number to 4,492 projects and works that are backlogged, prolonged, and have difficulties and obstacles.
Of which, 1,531 projects have been handled. For redundant houses and land after arrangement, to date, through review, it has been determined that there are 30,595 redundant facilities nationwide; of which, 14,992 facilities have been handled and put into operation and use.
A prominent result also mentioned is focusing on inspection, supervision, inspection, auditing, investigation, and definitive handling of many cases of corruption, wastefulness, and negativity. From the beginning of the year to now, Party committees and inspection committees at all levels have disciplined 65 Party organizations and 3,375 Party members; including 2 officials under central management.
Civil judgment enforcement has recovered over 3,996 billion VND
The Steering Committee said that through inspection and audit, it has proposed to recover 799.4 billion VND and 31 hectares of land; proposed administrative handling of 356 collectives and 1,192 individuals; transferred 13 cases with signs of crime to the investigating agency for investigation and handling according to regulations.

Prosecution agencies nationwide have newly initiated 1,985 cases/4,671 defendants, prosecuted 1,886 cases/4,520 defendants, and held first-instance trials of 1,721 cases/4,415 defendants for corruption, economic, and position crimes;
In which, for cases and incidents under the monitoring and direction of the Steering Committee, 5 new cases/52 defendants have been prosecuted; 58 defendants in 5 cases have been additionally prosecuted; 6 cases/77 defendants have been concluded and concluded additional investigations; indictments have been issued prosecuting 7 cases/136 defendants; first-instance trials of 9 cases/220 defendants; appellate trials of 9 cases/153 defendants according to the plan of the Steering Committee.
The Steering Committee has focused on directing the removal of difficulties and obstacles, improving the efficiency of asset recovery in corruption, wastefulness, and negative cases. Functional agencies have strengthened the application of asset recovery measures in corruption, wastefulness, and negative cases, in which, attention has been paid to encouraging subjects to voluntarily hand over assets and overcome consequences in cases and incidents under the Steering Committee's monitoring and direction.
From the beginning of the year to now, during the investigation phase, assets worth trillions of VND have been temporarily seized, distrained, frozen, and seized; during the prosecution and trial phase, more than 1,300 billion VND has been recovered; during the civil judgment enforcement phase, over 3,996 billion VND has been recovered, of which more than 1,841 billion VND has been recovered in cases under the supervision and direction of the Steering Committee.
