On the afternoon of June 26, the 18th term People's Council of Quang Binh province opened its 22nd session - a thematic session, term 2021 - 2026. This is also the last session before Quang Binh province officially merges with Quang Tri to form a new province from July 1, 2025.
Speaking at the opening of the session, Mr. Tran Hai Chau - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council emphasized that this is not only a session to complete the final important contents in the transition period, but also a special moment to look back at the spirit of solidarity, determination and responsibility of the entire political system and people of Quang Binh province.
We are witnessing a moment of great significance, a transition between the old and the new, between what has been painstakingly cultivated and created a new, open and aspirational development space. In that flow, today's session is an important highlight, demonstrating the will to act and high political responsibility of the highest state power agency in the locality, in order to create a solid foundation for the new government apparatus to operate effectively, seamlessly and stably after July 1" - Chairman of the Provincial People's Council said.
This session will focus on reviewing, discussing and deciding on many urgent contents, including: approving the 2024 budget settlement; adjusting the 2025 budget; adjusting the medium-term and annual public investment plan after the arrangement of administrative units; adjusting policies to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, especially in ethnic minority areas; deciding on issues related to land, forest, public assets and personnel work.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Council requested the delegates to uphold their sense of responsibility, promote democracy, contribute profound and quality opinions; the People's Council committees and specialized agencies urgently absorb and complete the draft resolutions for submission for approval.
