VNA reported that on the occasion of attending the High-level General Debate of the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York combined with bilateral activities in the US, on the morning of September 21 local time (night of September 21 Hanoi time), Politburo member and President Luong Cuong and his wife, along with the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation, visited Seattle City, Washington State, to conduct a number of bilateral activities.
In Seattle, President Luong Cuong received Deputy Governor of Washington Denny Heck. The President expressed his pleasure at visiting the US and the United Nations on the occasion of the United Nations General Assembly celebrating the 80th anniversary of its founding and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the US (1995-2025) and 2 years of upgrading the relationship to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (2023-2025).
The President affirmed that Vietnam considers the US as one of its top important partners and considers Washington a key partner at the local level and one of the leading economic and trade centers of the US; emphasizing that Vietnam is currently the fifth largest export market of Washington state.
The President highly appreciated the cooperation in recent times that has brought practical benefits to both sides and was pleased with the practical cooperation results in trade, education, aviation and energy.
Affirming that the two sides still have great potential to expand cooperation in many fields, the President suggested that the two sides should maintain cooperation momentum through increasing delegation exchanges and contacts at all levels; facilitating trade and investment; promoting cooperation in science - technology, artificial intelligence, logistics, clean energy, deep-water ports, and promoting cooperation between Washington State and Ho Chi Minh City.

On behalf of the State of Vietnam, the President emphasized that Washington State is an area with a large number of Vietnamese and Vietnamese people living and working and has an important position and role in the Vietnamese community in the US, and suggested that the state pay attention to supporting the Vietnamese community here to grow stronger and contribute to the relationship between the two countries.
Deputy Governor Denny Heck affirmed that Vietnam is a priority partner of Washington state in the region; in which Washington state has exported millions of USD of agricultural products to Vietnam, contributing to balancing trade between the two countries.
Deputy Governor Heck also highly appreciated the very effective cooperation between Vietnamese and US enterprises, especially in the aviation sector; expressed his joy and emphasized that Boeing Group's transfer of the Boeing 737 Max to Vietjet Airline is an important milestone, contributing to promoting harmonious trade between the two countries, creating thousands of jobs for people in the state; this cooperation also affirms the potential and important role of Vietnamese enterprises in the international arena.
Deputy Governor Denny Heck pledged to create a favorable living, learning and business environment, encourage cultural - educational exchanges, startups and connections between Washington state and Vietnam.
