President Luong Cuong hopes to soon welcome the King, Queen and members of the Japanese Royal Family to visit Vietnam.

On the afternoon of June 6, at the Presidential Palace, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong received Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki.

The President highly appreciated the Ambassador's efforts and positive contributions in promoting Vietnam - Japan relations as well as promoting the successful implementation of the visit to Vietnam by Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru and his wife last April.

In order to continue promoting the results of the visits of senior leaders of the two countries, the President suggested that the Ambassador pay attention to promoting political trust through visits of senior leaders; effectively implementing cooperation mechanisms between the two countries.

Along with that, the two sides need to promote the interweaving of economic benefits, cooperation to ensure economic security, food security, investment and trade cooperation, thereby helping Vietnam carry out industrialization, modernization, build an independent and self-reliant economy capable of responding to global economic fluctuations.

The President also wants the two parties to implement a new pillar of cooperation, science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in the visit of the Japanese Prime Minister recently; promote cooperation in training high quality human resources, especially in the field of semiconductors that benefit both countries; promote cooperation in the field of digital conversion that Japan has strengths; Promoting the deployment of important cooperation pillars on national defense and security, which continues to effectively implement the signed commitments and agreements.

According to the President, the two sides need to continue to strengthen local cooperation, connect human resources, labor cooperation, cultural exchanges, people-to-people exchanges; strengthen cooperation and support each other in issues of mutual concern to both sides at regional and international mechanisms and forums such as the United Nations, APEC, ASEAN.

Also at the reception, through the Ambassador, the President conveyed his regards and best wishes to the King and Queen, hoping to soon welcome the King, Queen and members of the Royal Family to visit Vietnam.

Ambassador Ito Naoki expressed his impression when attending the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30) and wished to attend the 80th anniversary of Vietnam National Day.

The Ambassador also said that Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru and his wife highly appreciated the results of their visit to Vietnam last April; affirmed that Japan always supports the country's development policy in the context of Vietnam entering a new era.

The Ambassador suggested that the two sides further strengthen measures to promote bilateral relations, promote the results of Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru's visit, thereby further promoting cooperation in various fields, especially digital transformation, green transformation, and AI development.
