On the afternoon of September 16, right after arriving in the capital Kuala Lumpur to attend the 46th AIPA General Assembly and pay an official visit to Malaysia, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, his wife Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation visited the Vietnamese Embassy and met with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Malaysia.
Speaking at the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his joy and emotion at visiting and meeting the Vietnamese community in his first visit to Malaysia.
Through the opinions shared by the people, the National Assembly Chairman was moved to say that our Vietnamese community today with about 6 million people in more than 130 countries and territories, including about 4.3 million long-term settlers and 600,000 experts and intellectuals, no matter where they are or what they do, they are always a patriotic community, always looking towards their homeland and Fatherland.
Affirming that "all policies and decisions of the Party and State are aimed at the people and for the people; caring for people's lives is the foundation for the country to develop", the National Assembly Chairman said that the Party and State have issued many important resolutions on areas such as science and technology, international integration, private economic development, energy, education, and people's health care. The National Assembly has passed many new laws and amended and supplemented a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution to create a favorable legal corridor, protecting the rights of domestic citizens and overseas Vietnamese. Vietnam has expanded and upgraded relations with many countries, including the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Malaysia.
The National Assembly Chairman stated that the Party and State always care about and create conditions for the overseas Vietnamese community to participate in contributing to the development of the country. The National Assembly has passed many Laws to create favorable conditions for our people abroad.
Recognizing the specific proposals of the people, including the request for Malaysia to support and facilitate the confirmation of permanent residence status to help people stabilize their lives, the National Assembly Chairman said that he would discuss with the Malaysian leaders.
Appreciating the results of the activities of the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia, the National Assembly Chairman hoped that the Embassy would continue to promote its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, diversification, more effective and responsible work to contribute to the effective implementation of the Vietnam - Malaysia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
With the community, the National Assembly Chairman hopes that the people will always be a solid united bloc, actively producing, doing business, and researching in Malaysia's strong fields of science and technology, especially digital transformation, semiconductor chips, artificial intelligence, etc., sharing good experiences with the country and actively promoting cooperation between the two countries; at the same time, continuing to contribute to the homeland, no matter where we are, our heart is always turned to the Fatherland.
The National Assembly Chairman also hopes that people will always comply with local laws, contributing to preserving and spreading the image and prestige of Vietnam. Agreeing the need to promote activities to teach Vietnamese language and Vietnamese culture to preserve the cultural identity of the nation, the National Assembly Chairman suggested that the domestic Embassy and the education sector pay attention to supporting the community.
