Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his wife, along with the high-level Vietnamese delegation, will pay an official visit to South Korea and Mongolia from September 6-11, at the invitation of South Korean National Assembly Chairman Cho Jeong-sik and his wife, Mongolian National Assembly Chairman Sandag Byambatsogt and his wife.
The visit takes place in the context of strong and substantive development of relations between the legislative bodies of Vietnam and Korea, achieving many new achievements, making an important contribution to deepening relations between the two countries.
The two sides regularly hold talks, contacts, and exchange delegations; regularly exchange experiences, coordinate to urge and promote the good implementation of signed agreements; closely cooperate and support each other at multilateral parliamentary forums.
South Korea is the largest investor of Vietnam out of a total of 154 countries investing, with a total registered capital of 102.6 billion USD, with 10,567 projects, focusing on areas important to the Vietnamese economy such as manufacturing industry, high technology, electronics, automobiles and auto parts, construction, real estate. In the first 7 months of this year, the total import and export turnover of Vietnam - South Korea reached 70 billion USD, an increase of 41% compared to the same period in 2025.
Scientific and technological cooperation is identified as a pillar, a new bright spot in bilateral relations. The two sides have built the Vietnam - Korea Institute of Science and Technology (VKIST), in which Korea provides non-refundable aid of 30 million USD. Currently, the two sides are promoting the implementation of phase 2 of the project.
By the end of 2025, there are about 352,000 Vietnamese people in Korea, including more than 100,000 international students and 100,000 workers; about 100,000 Vietnamese-Korean multicultural families.
Vietnam and Mongolia have a traditional friendly relationship from a very early age, and the two sides regularly help and support each other. Mongolia considers Vietnam to be Mongolia's leading important Comprehensive Partner in Southeast Asia.
In recent years, relations between the two countries have made substantial and comprehensive developments in many fields. The two sides established a Comprehensive Partnership on the occasion of the State visit to Mongolia by General Secretary and President To Lam in September 2024.
The two sides have great potential for cooperation in the field of economy and trade and have seen many bright spots in recent years.
In 2025, Vietnam - Mongolia bilateral trade turnover reached more than 155 million USD, of which Vietnam's export turnover reached over 100 million USD. Currently, some Vietnamese businesses have been and are implementing large-scale investment projects in the energy sector in Mongolia.
