On May 28, information from Nghe An Provincial People's Committee said that it had just issued Decision No. 1468/QD-UBND dated May 22, 2025 to establish a Working Group of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to carry out a peak period of fighting, preventing and repelling smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the area.
According to the decision, Mr. Le Hong Vinh - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directly became the leader. Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phung Thanh Vinh as a permanent deputy. The remaining two deputy groups were Mr. Pham Van Van - Director of Department of Industry and Trade and Mr. Nguyen Duy Thanh - Deputy Director of the Provincial Public Security.

The working group includes representatives of many key agencies and units such as the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, the Provincial People's Committee Office, the Border Guard Command, the Customs Branch of Region XI, the Coast Guard Command, the departments: Industry and Trade, Finance, Science and Technology, Construction, Culture - Sports and Tourism, Agriculture and Environment, Health; Forestry Sub-Department, Market Management Sub-Department, Vinh City People's Committee, Provincial Radio and Television Station...
The working group is responsible for directing and urging departments, localities and functional forces to seriously implement Official Dispatch No. 65/CD-TTg dated May 15, 2025 and Directive No. 13/CT-TTg dated May 17, 2025 of the Prime Minister on strengthening the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the new situation.
In addition, the Working Group will organize inspections, evaluate the results, promptly propose handling of organizations and individuals who are lax in management, lack responsibility, have negative signs or support violations. At the same time, directing functional forces to closely coordinate, share information and handle serious cases, with organizations related to intellectual property infringement, trading in counterfeit goods, banned goods, and trade fraud.
The Market Management Department is assigned to be the Standing Committee of the Working Group, responsible for summarizing the report, proposing solutions to the Prime Minister and the National Steering Committee 389, in order to improve the effectiveness of the fight against smuggling, trade frauds and fake goods in the province.
Recently, the authorities of Nghe An province have continuously launched peak periods of inspection and searching for counterfeit, counterfeit, and smuggled goods in the area - especially in border gate areas, unit markets, and online sales points. Many violations have been detected and strictly handled, contributing to protecting consumer rights and stabilizing the market.
Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh emphasized: "Anti-smuggling and counterfeit goods is a regular responsibility of the authorities, and at the same time an urgent requirement to protect domestic production, protect people's health and maintain trust in a healthy business environment. The province will resolutely handle all violations to prevent these acts from the root".
