The 14th Congress was attended by 1,586 delegates, representing more than 5.6 million party members nationwide. This is a particularly important political event, demonstrating the intelligence, bravery and great responsibility of the Party towards the Vietnamese revolution in the new era; having strategic significance in orienting the country's development path.
The 14th Party Congress takes place in a context of rapid international and regional changes, with many instabilities and uncertainties, and very complex and unpredictable developments. The country after 40 years of renovation, its foundation, potential, position and international prestige have been elevated to a new level.
The 14th Congress will continue to arouse the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country, bringing Vietnam steadily forward, standing shoulder to shoulder with the five continents in the new era.
With the motto "Unity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Development", the Congress identifies thinking, vision, and strategic decisions for us to make strong strides in the new era, successfully implement the country's development goals to 2030 when our Party celebrates its 100th anniversary of establishment (1930 - 2030); realize the development vision to 2045, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (1945 - 2045).
The theme of the 14th Party Congress is: "Under the glorious flag of the Party, joining hands, united in determination to successfully implement the country's development goals to 2030; self-reliance, confidence, and strong progress in the era of national rise, for peace, independence, democracy, prosperity, prosperity, civilization, happiness, steadily advancing towards socialism".
It is expected that the 14th Party Congress will work until January 25, 2026.

Yesterday morning, before the opening of the preparatory session, delegates attending the Congress entered the Mausoleum to pay respects to President Ho Chi Minh. After that, members of the Politburo, the Secretariat and heads of delegations of Party committees directly under the Central Government attending the Congress laid wreaths and offered incense at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs.
