According to the Decision of the Minister of National Defense, Colonel Duong Cong Sang - Political Commissar of Dong Thap Provincial Military Command - was appointed to the position of Political Commissar of Military Region 9 and handed over the position of Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command to Colonel Nguyen Viet Thang - Political Commissar of Dong Thap Provincial Military Command.
Speaking at the conference, Major General Huynh Van Ngon emphasized that Dong Thap province is a very important border area.
