General Phan Van Giang offers incense at the birthplace of the Vietnam People's Army

Cao Bang - General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense, and his delegation recently visited and offered incense at the Tran Hung Dao National Forest Special Relic Site.

On December 11, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day, General Phan Van Giang - Minister of National Defense, led a delegation to offer incense to commemorate General Vo Nguyen Giap and 34 soldiers of the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army at the Tran Hung Dao Forest Special National Relic Site, Nguyen Binh District, Cao Bang.

The delegation expressed deep gratitude to General Vo Nguyen Giap and the soldiers - those who laid the foundation for the heroic Vietnam People's Army.

General Phan Van Giang also recorded his thoughts, planted memorial trees, visited historical sites and presented gifts to families of policy beneficiaries, meritorious people and local armed forces.

Writing his thoughts in the memorial book, General Phan Van Giang affirmed: The Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and the officers and soldiers of the entire army vow to unite with one heart, be absolutely loyal to the Party, the State, the people and the socialist regime, always promote the noble qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers as well as the glorious tradition of 80 years of building and growing of the heroic Vietnam People's Army; be ready to receive and excellently complete all tasks, determined to build a revolutionary, disciplined, elite and modern Vietnam People's Army, together with the entire Party and people to successfully carry out the cause of renovation, build and firmly protect the socialist Vietnam Fatherland.

Afterwards, General Phan Van Giang and local leaders planted a memorial tree at the Tran Hung Dao National Special Relic Site.

On this occasion, the Ministry of National Defense and Military Region 1 also presented more than 70 gifts of gratitude, demonstrating the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source" and the spirit of solidarity between the army and the people.
